Filipino beef stew

This is a savory beef stew that is traditionally served over rice. The beef is marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, lemon juice, and sliced onions prior to cooking.

  1. First, let's make the marinade. In a large container, mix soy sauce and lemon juice to taste. Slice 1 large onion and place in the marinade along with the sliced ribeye. Place a cover over the container and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Once the meat has finished marinating, remove the container from the refrigerator. Using tongs, place the meat into a large saucepan on the stove and set the level to high.
  3. Cook the meat on the stove for about 10 minutes. Mix the meat to ensure the pieces are cooking evenly.
  4. After 10 minutes has passed, gradually pour in the marinade into the saucepan. Add some onions from the marinage as well.
  5. Once all the marinade has been added to the saucepan, cover it and let the dish simmer for another 10 minutes on medium heat (or until the meat is soft).
  6. Add the remaining onions from the marinade, stir the ingredients in the saucepan, and let the dish simmeer on low heat for another 5 minutes.
  7. Turn off the stove top, serve the stew over white rice, and enjoy!
